Terms of Use
For review: these terms are not yet in effect.
The rules for using Raree: what you may make and share, what your tokens are, and what we promise and don’t.
Last updated October 7, 2026.
These terms
Raree is made by Rare Realities (“we”). By using Raree you agree to these terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies. How we handle what you send is in our Privacy Policy. If we change these terms in a way that matters, Raree will tell you before the change applies.
Your worlds
Your words and photos stay yours. You let us use them, and send them to the services in our Privacy Policy, only to make the worlds you ask for and to keep Raree running. Only send words and photos you have the right to use, and think of the people in them.
A world is made by AI models from what you give them. It can surprise you, get things wrong, or show something you didn’t ask for. We don’t claim the worlds you make: you may keep, look into and share them for your own, non-commercial use. A world made by AI may not be protected by copyright, and we can’t promise that it is free of other people’s rights (Other people’s work).
Don’t sell what Raree makes. That means not selling, renting or licensing a world, its file, its picture or a recording of it; not charging for a share link or for access to a world; and not making worlds for other people for pay. Showing your worlds off is fine: share them by link, and post pictures and recordings of them.
What not to make
Don’t use Raree to make, share or ask for:
- anything sexual involving a minor, or anything that sexualizes a child in any way;
- sexually explicit or pornographic worlds;
- sexual or degrading images of a real person, or images meant to pass for real and mislead;
- gore, or people or animals being killed, maimed, tortured or abused;
- anything that encourages suicide, self-harm or an eating disorder;
- terrorism or violent extremism, or anything that celebrates mass violence;
- harassment, threats, or hate against people for who they are;
- someone’s private information, such as an address or a document, or photos of people or of private places without their permission;
- someone else’s work or likeness you have no right to use (Other people’s work);
- anything else that is illegal where you are, or that helps someone break the law.
Raree, and the AI models that make a world, check what you ask for and may refuse to make a world. If they do, the tokens come back. Don’t try to get around a refusal, by rewording what you ask for or in any other way.
A world can come out other than you asked, and that isn’t held against you. What counts is what you ask for and what you choose to share.
And don’t misuse Raree itself:
- don’t reach it other than through Raree itself, with a script or a changed copy of Raree, or get around its checks that a request comes from Raree;
- don’t automate it, make worlds in bulk, or overload it;
- don’t get around its limits or prices, or use someone else’s Apple Account or tokens without their say;
- don’t sell the worlds you make (Your worlds), or resell access to Raree;
- don’t probe or attack its security, or take it apart to copy it.
Breaking these rules on purpose can get you suspended (Suspension).
Other people’s work
Don’t use Raree to copy someone else’s work. Asking for a look is fine (“as a watercolor”, “like an old storybook”). Asking for a copy of a particular film’s set, a game’s level, a character, a logo or brand, or a specific artwork or photo isn’t, unless you have the right to use it.
A world can, by chance, look like something that already exists. Before you share a world, or use it anywhere outside Raree, it’s up to you to make sure it doesn’t copy someone else’s work.
If a world copies your work
Write to us (see Contact) with:
- the link to the shared world;
- the work you own, or act for, and where we can see it;
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the world’s use of the work isn’t allowed by its owner, their agent or the law;
- a statement that what you’ve sent is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the work or may act for its owner;
- your signature (typing your name is enough).
We take down a shared world that copies someone’s work, as we would a reported one, and suspend whoever shares such worlds again and again. If a world of yours was taken down and you believe that was a mistake, write to us and we’ll tell you what we need to look again.
Using Raree safely
Raree shows worlds on your screen in place of what’s in front of you, and a world can fill the screen. You’re responsible for your own safety and for where you use Raree:
- stay aware of what’s around you, and of the people near you, while you use it;
- look up from the screen before you move;
- don’t use Raree while you drive, ride or cross a street, or anywhere it isn’t safe to look away;
- don’t go anywhere you’re not allowed to be to place a portal or take a photo;
- on Apple Vision Pro a world can surround you entirely: clear the space around you first, and stay where you are while it does;
- children use Raree with a grown-up beside them, on the grown-up’s phone, who watches where they walk; Raree isn’t made for children under 13 to use on their own.
Some worlds have flickering light. If you’ve had a seizure or are sensitive to flashing light, check with a doctor before you use Raree, and stop if you feel dizzy, sick or your eyes get tired.
You use Raree at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for injury, loss or damage that comes from not taking care of your surroundings while you use it (see Liability). Staying safe in Help has more.
Sharing
You’re responsible for the worlds you share. Anyone with a share link can open the world.
If a shared world is harmful, choose Report… in its menu, or write to us (see Contact); Block whoever shared it… stops their links opening for you. We look at what’s reported, and may take down a shared world that breaks these terms (its copies go from people’s phones the next time they open it).
Suspension
We may suspend you, straight away and without warning, when it’s clear you are misusing Raree on purpose:
- misusing Raree itself (the second list in What not to make), such as reaching it with a script or getting around its checks;
- making and sharing worlds that break these terms when you plainly mean to: to hurt, harass or deceive someone, or again after one was taken down;
- sharing other people’s work again and again (Other people’s work).
A world that came out wrong, or something Raree refused to make, isn’t a reason on its own.
While you’re suspended, Raree won’t make or share worlds for your Apple Account, and the worlds you’ve shared may be taken down. You can still open the worlds already on your phone. Tokens aren’t refunded because of a suspension, except where the law says otherwise, and deleting your worlds and data doesn’t lift one. Where someone, a child above all, may be in danger, we may also tell the authorities (Privacy Policy).
If you think we got it wrong, tap Send feedback on the Raree page or write to us (see Contact): we’ll look again, and lift a suspension that was a mistake.
Tokens
You spend tokens to make worlds and sketches, at the prices Raree shows before you make one. Tokens are a way to use Raree, not money: they have no cash value and can’t be sold, transferred or exchanged. If Raree can’t finish a world, or you cancel one while it still waits to start, its tokens come back.
- Your tokens, from packs, don’t expire. They can be spent only while Raree makes worlds (If Raree ends).
- Subscription tokens refill each week, and those you did not use expire.
Purchases are made and refunded through the App Store, under Apple’s terms. A refund takes back the tokens it paid for that you haven’t used, including any a world made before the refund gives back later. Tokens are kept with your Apple Account; erasing everything we keep about you (Privacy Policy) loses the ones you haven’t used.
Subscriptions
Curious and Curiouser are billed every week until you cancel in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Curious starts with 3 days free, then is billed weekly unless you cancel at least a day before they end. Prices are shown in Raree and in the App Store before you subscribe, and a change applies only from a renewal you have been told of.
The service
We work to keep Raree running, but it may be slow, unavailable, or change, and a feature may go. Some features, and Raree itself, may not be offered everywhere. You can stop using it at any time, and delete your worlds (Privacy Policy).
If Raree ends
We may one day stop offering Raree. If we do:
- we’ll tell you in Raree and on our website at least 3 months before it stops;
- from the day we tell you, tokens and subscriptions are no longer sold, and subscriptions don’t renew;
- you can spend the tokens you have until making worlds stops, on a date we give you, which may be before the 3 months are up; tokens not spent by then are lost, except where the law says otherwise;
- for at least 3 months after we tell you, you can still download the worlds you’ve made to your phone, open share links, and delete your worlds and data;
- after that, downloads and share links stop working, and we delete what we keep about you (Privacy Policy).
Worlds already on your phone stay there, but we can’t promise that Raree will still open them, or stay in the App Store, once it ends. If a law, a court or something truly beyond our control stops Raree sooner, we’ll give you as much notice as we can.
Liability
Raree is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have that the law does not let us limit.
These terms are governed by the laws of [to confirm], except where the law where you live says otherwise.
